POSITIVE THIRD ROW FOR RODRIGO IN MALAYSIA

It was a positive Saturday for Gabriel Rodrigo, who will start tomorrow’s penultimate race of the Moto3 World Championship from ninth position on the grid. After finishing 18thyesterday, the Argentine rider did not miss the chance of clinching the direct admission to Q2 as he finished the session in third place – before claiming a third-row start in the qualifying session.

There was maybe a little bit of regret for the 19 of Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3, as if he replicated the morning time in Q2 he would have been close to a first-row start, but still both the race pace and the feeling are improving at Sepang.

A difficult performance for Riccardo Rossi, instead, as the Italian did not manage to be consistent after the good 15thtime set yesterday. Rossi will start the #MalaysianGP – getting underway at 12:00 local time (GMT+8) – from the 29thand final position on the grid.

9th– GABRI RODRIGO #19

“I’m very happy despite the rain coming in Q2… We could have done better but third row is very good anyway. Our best from today was in FP3 as we showed an excellent race pace, which will surely give us the chance to be among the protagonists tomorrow.”

29th– RICCARDO ROSSI #54

“Today was a disaster. In reality we are not slow, but I think we still lack a little bit of experience in order to put together a quick-lap as we should do. Unfortunately, today we suffered the traffic too much both in FP3 and Q1 – and the chaos on track. If it’s going to be a group race I’m convinced we will be able to put together a good comeback – but too bad for today…”
