PRACTICE: ARENAS SECURES DIRECT SEED TO Q2 WITH FIFTH-QUICKEST TIME
ALBERT ARENAS #75
“First day of action at Jerez: we got here fully focused after all the work done in the extra European races. The goal for today was to resume the work from where we left off in Qatar: we finished the day with a good rhythm, we’re strong. It wasn’t easy, though: the feeling in the morning was not ideal, but we managed to make the right step with good precision in order to achieve the best feeling, with regards to both the race pace and the time attack. We remain focused: we did a good job today and we must continue the same way tomorrow, before turning our attention to the race. I’m also happy with the long run we did on the race distance, in order to check the tyre behaviour: we’ll need to make the most of this information in order to make the decisive step for the upcoming days.”
DARRYN BINDER #15
“It’s good to be back in Europe, happy to be back in Jerez! It’s the first race we get a new rear tyre, which is really exciting staff, so today we’ve been trying to focus on this, to find a good set-up and a good feeling, and see if it will be possible to race with it. Overall we struggled a little bit this afternoon, but I feel like if we can figure out a couple things, tomorrow we should be able to close the gap and be competitive again. Let’s see what we can do tomorrow”.
