READY FOR A BACK-TO-BACK CHALLENGE: MUGELLO & ASSEN AHEAD
The ITALJET GRESINI Moto2 Team is ready to return to action for an intense back-to-back race weekend: first stop is Mugello, home of Italian racing passion, followed by the legendary TT Circuit Assen. Albert Arenas and Darryn Binder head into this double-header with renewed energy after a productive test day at the Barcelona circuit. Arenas regained speed, working on various aspects to improve competitiveness, while Binder reconnected with his bike and found solid pace again.
At Mugello, the Spanish rider #75 is determined to turn the page after two challenging rounds at Silverstone and Aragon. He aims to leave past difficulties at this track behind him and show his true potential. The test in Barcelona delivered encouraging signs, and now it’s time to translate that work into results. Binder also returns to Tuscany with a clear goal: to redeem himself after last year and settle the score with this circuit.
The team is already looking ahead to Assen, a track where both riders have always felt good. Arenas has shown impressive speed there in the past, and the fast flowing Dutch circuit suits the riding style of South African rider #15 perfectly. Two crucial races await the ITALJET GRESINI Moto2 Team, who line up with motivation, determination, and a strong desire to fight at the front.
ALBERT ARENAS #75
“We arrive at Mugello after an important test day in Barcelona last week, where we tried many things that helped us find more speed. It will be crucial to confirm those improvements here. We need to stay focused and continue working in the same direction as we did during the test. I’m really eager to bounce back after two tough GPs, although Mugello isn’t exactly a track that suits my riding style. I’ll give it my all, and I’m looking forward to starting to reap the benefits of all this work from Friday onwards. Then we head to Assen, a circuit where I’ve always been fast. I really like that these are back-to-back races—it helps us keep the momentum. The common goal is to climb up the standings and bounce back from the last races, where we had the pace but couldn’t make the most of it in qualifying. The step forward made in testing should help us get back to the positions we aim for.”
DARRYN BINDER #15
“After a full day of testing in Barcelona—over 100 laps—to regain confidence and speed, we head to Mugello with a good feeling. I’ve got unfinished business with this track from last year, so I really want to finish what I started this weekend. Plus, it’s the team’s home race, and that gives me extra motivation to do well. I’m also really excited to head straight to Assen—a fast-flowing circuit I really enjoy. I’m looking forward to that!”
