Q2 BOOKED FOR TEAM FEDERAL OIL GRESINI AT LE MANS
#FrenchGP Free Practice. It was a positive Friday for Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 as both riders felt good aboard their Triumph-powered Kalex machines in today’s two free practice sessions.
This morning, Fabio Di Giannantonio was the protagonist among the two: the Italian finished FP1 in fourth place (1’37.812) after dominating for most of the session. In the afternoon, he had a bit more of a difficult time but nevertheless he was able to finish in the lot of the riders eligible for Q2 direct admission.
Nicolò Bulega went on the opposite direction: after being 20th in the morning session, in the afternoon he jumped up to sixth, a position that almost surely grants him the direct seed to Q2, which gets underway tomorrow at 15:35 local time.
6th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11
“We needed this for the morale of both me and the team: this was a very useful day. The bike was not too bad but we still need to improve – as every other competitor will – but we’re happy. The weather will be the true protagonist tomorrow so we will have to do our best to adapt to any situation.”
13th – FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21
“Today was so and so… In mixed conditions we surely performed better. We started well in the afternoon with hard tyres on the rear and soft at the front – but I don’t have a good feeling with the latter. Too bad for the crash mid-session which slowed us down, but we’re doing our best to be a few tenths quicker – something that will place us among the best. Let’s keep working this way.”
