#QATARGP: NAVARRO CLOSES IN ON TOP-10 ON FRIDAY

The learning experience of Jorge Navarro in the Moto2 World Championship continues as the young Spaniard completes the second day of practice at the Losail International Circuit. The standard bearer of the Federal Oil Gresini team was 11th at the end of FP3 courtesy of a 2’02.001s lap-time, which was 0.2s quicker than the one set yesterday at the Qatari venue.

One of the most active riders on track, Navarro completed 17 laps of the 5.4km fast-flowing circuit located outside of Qatar’s capital city Doha as he worked hard with his crew to improve the feeling with the rear-end of his Kalex Honda machine as well as the bike’s behaviour on corner entry.

The first qualifying of the year for the middleweight class will get underway tomorrow at 18:55 local time (GMT +3).

JORGE NAVARRO #9

“We made some changes to the bike setup in order to improve my feeling with the bike on corner entry. We somehow solved the problem, but as a result other small issues came up. On our last outing with fresh tyres we were unable to set a competitive time, maybe because we made a step back with the setup, but our race pace is good. We’re still getting to know the bike but I’m confident we’ll be able to improve some more tomorrow and battle for a good spot on the grid.”
