FIFTH ROW FOR NAVARRO IN #JAPANESEGP QUALIFYING

Until now, the Japanese Grand Prix has not matched the expectations of Jorge Navarro. The young Spaniard managed to start working in optimal track conditions on his Kalex #9 only today and could not finish any higher than 15thin qualifying at Motegi.

With twenty riders within a second, the gap of the Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2rider from the top was 0.879seconds, meaning Navarro will line-up on row four for the sixteenth race of the 2018 Moto2 World Championship – which will get underway at 12:20 local time (GMT+9).

Nothing is lost, however, as Navarro’s pace is good: tomorrow morning’s warm up will be very helpful to try and find those tenths of a second that could make a big difference in the race.

15th– JORGE NAVARRO #9

“It was a complicated day. This morning we made a set-up change that resulted in a step forward, but that wasn’t enough. In qualifying we made some more adjustments but unfortunately I never found the right feeling with the bike. I still struggle under braking and on corner entry and that means that I lose also on acceleration. In such a hard-fought category you always need to be on top of your game, that’s why we need to do our best to be prepared for the race.”
