RODRIGO E ALCOBA IMMEDIATELY COMPETITIVE AT THE SACHSENRING

#GermanGP Free Practice. The German Grand Prix has got underway with scorching temperatures (31° C) for the first two free practice sessions since 2019 – for obvious reasons – at the Sachsenring. Gabriel Rodrigo and Jeremy Alcoba have played their cards right while finding some positive signs in both of today’s sessions.

Alcoba had an especially promising performance as he was 15th on a track he had never rode upon before today. In FP1, he was already able to log a 1’27.8secs, seven tenths shy of his teammate Rodrigo – who was fourth today in the combined standings.

With Rodrigo in the position to aim very high tomorrow with the soft-tyre option (which have not been used yet) and Alcoba looking forward to furth improving, the Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3 team will be back on track tomorrow morning at 9:00 local time (GMT +2) for FP3.

4th – GABRIEL RODRIGO #2 (1’27.109)

“We lapped all day long with the harder rear tyre and we were still among the fastest. I’m curious to see how quick we can be with the softer choice. This is a circuit I like and where I know we can be competitive. We are looking for some continuity of results: today was only the opening day, but we’re surely on the right path.”

15th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (1’27.798)

“I still can’t say whether I like this track or not: it’s fun, but there are only left-hand corners! In the afternoon – despite the heat – we were able to match the morning’s lap-time, and this is a good sign. We need to improve something in terms of set-up but especially I have to improve a lot more in almost every area, which is something quite common after only two sessions.”
