RODRIGO UNDERGOES SURGERY, ALCOBA CALLED UP TO REPLACE THE ARGENTINE

Gabriel Rodrigo left the Quiron Dexeus clinc after undergoing surgery yesterday morning to fix the right-collarbone fracture. The procedure – performed by Dr Xavier Mir – went smoothly and was a success, and a titanium dynamic compression plate was inserted after removing the previous one.

The Argentine rider has started a rehabilitation period, which will involve the surgically-repaired collarbone and the compound fracture in his hip. The recovery time is estimated within 2-3 weeks, with the number 19 that should join back the team and his Honda already from the GP of Silverstone.

Team Kömmerling GresiniMoto3 will count on Jeremy Alcoba as Rodrigo’s subistute at Spielberg. The 17-year-old Spaniard – who’s currently leading the standings in the CEV Moto3 class, will be under Massimo Capanna’s guidance for his debut with Team Gresini’s colours.
