Sam Lowes Second Fastest On Day One Of Moto2 Testing At Jerez

The Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 was back in action today for the first of three days of official Moto2 testing at the Spanish circuit of Jerez de la Frontera: riding for the first time with the new livery, presented in Faenza last February 26, Sam Lowes was among the fastest in all the three sessions, ending the day with the second fastest time, 1’42”389, beaten only by Swiss Thomas Luthi who set the best performance in 1’42”271.

As usual, Lowes worked on the race pace, using old tyres and keeping a good rhythm on several consecutive laps; the 25-year-old English rider also tried some new parts made available by Kalex and Ohlins.

SAM LOWES (2nd – 1’42”389)
“It’s been a really good first day, we tested some new parts for Kalex and Ohlins and we worked a lot on used tyres. I’m really happy because we are working good for the race pace: we did a not bad lap time and also many runs with fast laps. We have some more things to try tomorrow, today we worked also a little bit looking for more grip and we’ll continue tomorrow”.
