ROW SIX FOR TEAM FEDERAL OIL IN BARCELONA
Nicolò Bulega and Edgar Pons will be side by side on row six for the start of the ninth event of the season at Montmeló. It was not an easy Q2 session this afternoon which saw the standard bearers of Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 at the bottom or the timesheets in the final session.
That surely is a pity as the expectations were surely more promising, with the Spanish rider who easily made his way through Q2 at the end of Free Practice 3 while Bulega managed to do the same with a last second effort in Q1.
With the race scheduled for tomorrow from 13:20 local time (GMT +2) a good start for both will be needed along with a good comeback as both will aim to be in the points.
16th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11 (1’44.349)
“A quite difficult day as we’re struggling to find the right setup for the bike. We still have some adjustments in mind to try during tomorrow’s warm-up and the hope is to make that step up we need ahead of the race. We’re far from the front but we need a few tenths of a second to be really competitive.”
17th – EDGAR PONS #57 (1’44.410)
“A positive day, especially in the morning when we were always in the top ten. We lacked a good slipstream, if we had it we could have been two or three tenths quicker, but there’s still time to improve ahead of the race.”
