DIFFICULT CONDITIONS PUT NAVARRO ON ROW 7 FOR ARGENTINE GP

Jorge Navarro will start the second Moto2 World Championship race of his career from the seventh row of the grid, after finishing 20th in the sole qualifying session for the middleweight class of MotoGP in Argentina. Weather did play quite a part as track conditions kept changing throughout the session but never to a fully dry situation.

Navarro’s 1’46.970secs lap-time was 1.3 seconds away from the pole set by Miguel Oliveira, which is a sign of the extremely high level of this year’s Moto2 class.

The Federal Oil Team Gresini rider will regroup and get ready for the 23-lap encounter at Termas de Rio Hondo, which will get underway tomorrow at 12:20 local time (GMT-3)

20º – JORGE NAVARRO #9

“Today unfortunately the track conditions did not allow us to work on the bike as much as we’d liked. I felt quite good on the mixed conditions we encountered in the morning, while in qualifying the track was a bit trickier and I didn’t have the right feeling to push at my very best. It was my first time with this bike in such conditions: it was not easy, but we learned some more and I think we’re quite ready for tomorrow.”
