SILVERSTONE: ALCOBA BACK IN THE LINE-UP, ROSSI TO RIDE THROUGH PAIN

Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3will be back on track at Silverstone with a reworked line-up: on one side Gabriel Rodrigo is still side-lined due to the pelvic and collarbone injuries – he is due to return in Misano – while Riccardo Rossi injured his hand last week during a flat-track training session.

The Italian suffered a clean fracture of the distal phalanx bone in the left index finger, but he will still travel to England to test his condition and continue his rookie hear at the British venue.

After a convincing debut at Spielberg, it will be again Jeremy Alcoba the substitute rider for Rodrigo within Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3: this will be a new opportunity for the young Catalan rider, who is yet to visit England for the first time.

The weekend ahead, which surely is challenging on paper but could also be motivating for the two young standard bearers of Gresini Racing, will begin at 9:00 local time (GMT +1) on Friday with the first free practice session.

JEREMY ALCOBA #52

“First of all I’d like to thank the team and Fausto for giving me another change to race with the team at Silverstone, I’m over the moon! I’ve never been in England and the only way I know Silverstone is through videogaming. The goals are few but clear: to learn quickly from the best and complete as many laps as possible: who knows, maybe a point or two could come! The most important thing, as I said already, is to make as much experience as possible.”

RICCARDO ROSSI #54

“Unfortunately I hurt myself while doing some flat track in preparation for Silverstone. I fractured the distal phalanx bone of the right hand, but I still think I can ride quite comfortably in England. Silverstone is a nice track and difficult at the same time, but we’ll give our best as usual.”
