THE STAGE IS SET FOR THE 2018 SEASON OF TEAM DEL CONCA GRESINI MOTO3
The official launch of Team Gresini Moto3 took place today at the logistics centre of Del Conca. Jorge Martin, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Fausto Gresini and the whole Mularoni family were there to unveil the newly-liveried Honda NSF250RW #88 and #21 machine that will be used by the two riders and the team to try and win the 2018 title.
With the rider line-up confirmed from last year, this will Fabio Di Giannantonio’s third season with the Italian squad; on the other side of the garage, Jorge Martin will try to build on an extraordinary debut year with the team, which saw him dominate most of the qualifying sessions and win the final race of the season in Valencia,
The expectations for the upcoming racing year are obviously very high, especially in light of the 14 overall podium finishes – Valencia win included – taken by Team Del Conca Gresini Moto3 and the encouraging lap-times set in the two private tests performed at Jerez and Valencia, where Martin and Di Giannantonio were among the fastest riders of the category and had only positive feedback about the bike.
All the ingredients for an exciting season are there, along with one more final test at Jerez on March 6-7-8 before the season debut in Qatar on March 18th.
JORGE MARTIN: “I’m really happy to be able to continue my World Championship journey with Team Del Conca Gresini Moto3. I think with last year’s experience and such a competitive and friendly team we can definitely battle for the title this year. The goal will be to win races and see if towards the end of the year we’ll be in contention for the ultimate prize. Testing so far has been great and I can’t wait to get back on track aboard this bike.”
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO: “2018 will be my third year in the series and I really want to do well. After two good years, we need to step up our game. I don’t want to be under any illusion and just keep my head down and work hard like we did in the recent tests at Valencia and Jerez. We already found some interesting settings which give us great hopes, ideas and thoughts for the season start in Qatar. We want to improve race by race and do better than last year.
