#SPANISHGP: NAVARRO SLOWED DOWN BY CRASH IN FRIDAY’S PRACTICE

It was an unfortunate afternoon session at Jerez de la Frontera for Jorge Navarro, who crashed out at turn two in the early stages of FP2 and could not find the rhythm back as Friday’s racing activities drew to a close.

The Spanish rider started the day in an encouraging way by setting a 1’43.279 lap-time which gave him ninth place this morning. At the end of opening day of action for the Spanish Grand Prix, the rider of Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 remains close to the top-10 (11th) and 0.742secs away from Marquez’s best lap of the day.

Tomorrow’s FP3 will be crucial to get some confidence back with his Kalex machine #9, starting with FP3 at 10:55 local time (GMT +2).

11th – JORGE NAVARRO #9

“We started off well this morning and towards the end of the session we tried the tyre that we’ll use in the race – which I liked. This afternoon I did a little change in my way of riding and things didn’t go as I liked. I crashed and I lost confidence. I must say I didn’t change tyres so our position is not as it looks: I’m positive for tomorrow as I won’t repeat today’s mistake and I think a top-6/7 is an achievable results for qualifying.”
