TEAM QJMOTOR GRESINI MOTO2 CLAIMS PROVISIONAL Q2 ACCESS WITH BOTH RIDERS AFTER DAY 1 FREE PRACTICE
Free Practice – #ItalianGP It was a positive opening day for Team QJMOTOR GRESINI Moto2 who places both riders in the group of riders who are provisionally qualified to Q2. In what was a typical late-spring Italian Friday afternoon, Filip Salač was sixth quickest in the combined times, with a lap-time of 1’51.627secs. The Czech rider had a bit more of a difficult time in getting up to speed in FP2 due to the higher temperatures, so his personal best remained the one set in the morning session.
Jeremy Alcoba also had an encouraging first day of action: the Spanish rider #52 is currently 12th in the combined times of Friday’s FP sessions, as he also turned out to be quicker in the first session of the day – in which he was able to set his fastest lap-time in this circuit.
6th – FILIP SALAČ #12 (1’51.627)
“Today was a challenging day: during FP1 we experience some technical issues which cost us precious minutes. Then in the afternoon the temperatures were much higher, and we struggled to lap at a good pace. We need to work a lot ahead of tomorrow and let’s see how things will go tomorrow in qualifying.”
12th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (1’51.896)
“I’m happy with this first day at Mugello; I wasn’t expecting to be so quick straight away. I managed to be quicker in FP1 than during testing and to set my quickest lap at this track. The feeling was good, even though in FP2 I struggled a bit more due to the heat. We’re currently in Q2 but we’re still missing something, we need to work hard to find the same feeling I had in the morning also with higher temperatures and new tyres – as we’re finding a harder time with that right now.”
