TWO CIRCUITS, TWO STORIES: LOPEZ AND GARCIA READY FOR THE CHALLENGE BETWEEN BRNO AND ASSEN

After a one-week break, the Moto2 World Championship returns with another back-to-back between the Czech Republic and the Netherlands: the team Italjet Gresini Moto2 is ready to face two circuits that are very different from each other, yet both rich in history and technical challenges. The first stop will be Brno, a smooth-flowing track where finding the right feeling with the layout can make the difference, before moving to Assen, the “Cathedral of Speed”, with its unique layout and iconic high-speed sections.

Alonso Lopez heads into this double-header after a solid first part of the season, showing consistency and strong pace despite not yet securing a podium finish. Brno and Assen represent two important opportunities for the Spanish rider #21, who has always found a good feeling on these tracks and aims to turn the potential shown so far into results. The goal will be to continue the positive progress and fight for the top positions from the very first session.

Sergio Garcia, meanwhile, returns to action after undergoing surgery for compartment syndrome on his right forearm. The rider will have to pass the medical inspection to receive the green light from the doctors and take part in the race weekend, but he’s feeling confident: he feels good, he’s highly motivated, and cannot wait to get back on his bike. After Brno, the goal will be to arrive at Assen in even better shape and tackle a track he particularly enjoys, where he has already proven he can be competitive.

ALONSO LOPEZ #21
“We head into this next double-header with confidence: we have two circuits ahead where I have always been fast, and I am convinced that I can feel comfortable there again this year. We come from a solid first part of the season where we have always shown our speed, and now we want to take the next step. We can fight for strong results both in Brno and Assen, so I can’t wait to get back on track!”

SERGIO GARCIA #3
“After the surgery on my right forearm, I will have to pass the medical inspection in Brno before I can return to the track, but I already feel very good and I think I will be able to handle all the sessions of the weekend without any issues. In Assen I will be feeling even better and I will be able to fight for the result: it is a very fast and beautiful track, where I have been strong both in Moto3 and Moto2, so it looks promising! I am fully motivated for these two rounds: we will take them day by day, always giving our maximum.”
