FERRARI STORMS OVER MISANO WITH DOUBLE WIN
Temperatures changed and so rivals and strategy, but the result stayed the same: Matteo Ferrari literally dominated race two at Misano after avoiding a possible collision with Simeon at the start, before keeping a strong pace which his opponents were unable to keep today.
At the chequered flag the gap with second-place rider Garzo was more than two seconds, with the Spaniard now second in the standings 19 points behind Ferrari. There is now only Valencia left, the second and last doubleheader to wrap up the season in November.
Lorenzo Savadori, on the other hand, was 11that the chequered flag and after staying with the big group and with a good battle with Terol he got to the chequered flag side by side with Terol, missing a top-ten finish for a split second.
It was a perfect weekend for Team Trentino Gresini, who will now get into an almost two-month break before the season finale in Valencia.

“It was a completely different race compared to yesterday and with the team we decided to go for a much more aggressive start to try and dictate the pace from the beginning. We managed to do so and things went the way we wanted. We’re very happy and maybe we weren’t expecting to do so well, but we were still a bit sure of it. It was also a little bit about luck, because after the start I was almost caught into Simeon’s crash, who fell off really close to me. Things went well, so now we try to confirm the same type result at Valencia in November.

“Simeon’s crash today kind of broke the group. From there I could not stay with the front runners. With this type of bikes it’s hard to recover without slipstreams. At the beginning I tried to push but the bike was vibrating a bit too much so now we’ll see what happened. The team did an outstanding ob and from the other side it was the perfect weekend, so it was good this way.”
