FERRARI AND MANTOVANI HARD AT WORK AT JEREZ

#SpanishGP Free Practice. The opening Grand Prix of the 2021 FIM MotoE World Cup has got underway today at Jerez for Team Indonesian E-Racing Gresini who after two Free Practice sessions sees both Matteo Ferrari and rookie Andrea Mantovani inside the top ten.

If for the #9 this is a good start – in his debut at international level – the same cannot be said from the 2020 runner-up of the series, who was quick this morning (fourth-fastest) although he was unable to improve in FP2. The last free practice session will take place tomorrow morning at 11:50 local time (GMT +2), while the E-Pole is scheduled later the same day at 16:05.

7th – MATTEO FERRARI #11 (1’48.707)

“Overall it was a positive day, especially in FP1. We surely made a step forward compared to testing and the good lap-time came with used tyres, which is surely a good sign for Sunday. We managed FP2 well as I got stuck in traffic and didn’t make the most of the few laps with the new tyre. The wind and the set-up changes didn’t help.”

10th – ANDREA MANTOVANI #9 (1’49.052)

“I’m very happy with the first session as the set-up changes made a huge different, compared to the previous outings. I was hoping to continue the same way in FP2 but I didn’t trust the front enough and that prevented us from performing well. We will work hard to do well tomorrow and especially in the race.”
