TEAM FEDERAL OIL GRESINI AIMING HIGH AT JEREZ

Jerez de la Frontera awaits Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 and Sam Lowes for the first European event of 2019, with the British rider getting to Spain in good form after a reinvigorating break.

If Lowes already showed great speed in qualifying – with two front-row starts out of three races this year – the #22 needs to improve his race performance and aim higher than his personal best result of sixth produced so far this year.

Back in 2016, the Gresini-Lowes duo claimed pole position en route to a Sunday race win. Three seasons later, Team Federal Oil Gresini will aim for a late-repeat from Friday’s FP1 – scheduled to begin at 10:55 local time (GMT +2).

SAM LOWES #22

“I really look forward to racing at Jerez de la Frontera. We’re back in Europe and this track is without a doubt a good starting point for me. Testing went really good and we already won here in the past together. We will start with the data available from the winter and we hope to be competitive from free practice already. We know what to do and we have a good base to start from.”
