TEAM DEL CONCA GRESINI AT MONTMELO TO STAY IN THE TITLE GAME
Last week’s double podium at Mugello has brought a breath of fresh confidence and excitement in the garage of Team Del Conca Gresini Moto3, who will try this weekend to follow on the same line of work as of late in order to aim at top results with both riders.
Jorge Martin will be the favourite heading into the seventh event of the year – his second on a home track – with the goal to do an even better job than last year, when he took pole position and battled for the win up to the last lap – he was third, eventually, at the line. The young Spanish rider will try to give some continuity to his results after a brace of the DNFs he was not to blame for. Fabio Di Giannantonio will aim at stepping up his game at this track, where he has always finished in the top-10 so far.
Currently three and eight points away from the top of the standings, respectively, Martin and Di Giannantonio will begin their chase for Catalan gold on Friday 15th at 9:00am local time (GMT +2) as the Moto3 will take to the track for Free Practice 1.

“We cannot wait to get back on track and especially at Montmeló, where I’ve always been quick and where last year I had one of my best weekends of the season. It’s a track that I like because we are racing on the historical layout, which suits my style a lot better. We come from the win at Mugello, but I’m sure the KMTs will be competitive this time out, too. We will be ready for the challenge.”

“Going to Barcelona is always unique, because each time we are racing on a different track. Since I made my world championship debut I have never raced on the same one and this year we’ll be using the original layout, with much longer corners, so it will be interesting to see how our Honda will behave. After a podium and a half win, we need to keep the momentum going: I’m training really hard to be physically prepared for this event, which is expected to be really hot.”
