A SUNDAY WITHOUT GLORY AT THE SACHSENRING

Race – #GermanGP The second of three back-to-back rounds has drawn to a close at the Sachsenring: Team Moto2 QJMOTOR GRESINI leaves Germany fifth in the championship standings with 94 points, three of which scored today as Filip Salač crossed the line thirteenth in his home GP. The rider #12 was aiming higher this weekend but he ended up experiencing the same braking issue he had at Mugello, which prevented him from pushing at his maximum. He chose instead to avoid taking any risk and take home the best possible result, which allows him to retain fifth place in the standings.

Jeremy Alcoba had a complicated start to the race as he hit the brakes too hard and due to a coming together with another rider, he was given a long-lap penalty – which cost him nine positions. From there, his comeback began: his pace was not too bad and it allowed him to finish the race in sixteenth position, very close to the top-15.

13th – FILIP SALAČ #12

“After the difficult day we had yesterday, I can say I’m happy with the race but not with the result – which was the worst of the season so far. I did my best but we were losing under braking just like at Mugello; I still tried to have fun and try to bring home some points. I would like to thank all of those who came to the track to support me.”

16th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52

“I managed to get a good start but then I braked too deep, hit a rider and received a long-lap penalty which I did straight away, and I should have instead waited. I’m not happy with the result because with the pace we had we could have battled with Filip and why not, get a top-ten result. We were 16th, instead, and we will work hard for the next race.”
