ALCOBA READY FOR COMEBACK AFTER CHALLENGING QUALIFYING AT MISANO

It was another challenging day for the Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3 team, with Jeremy Alcoba unable to make it through Q1 and all the way down 26th place of the grid for tomorrow’s #EmiliaRomagnaGP race.

The #52 did improve his lap-times today as he battled for direct access to Q2 until the final moments of Free Practice 3 this morning. The mixed conditions of the track did not help, however, but also in Q1 he was very close to getting it done before a crash at turn 15 took all his chances away.

With the sun expected tomorrow at the Misano World Circuit, the level of the field may change dramatically. Alcoba will need to put together an incredible comeback in what will be the third-last race of the season.

26th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (1’52.084)

“The feeling with the bike were a lot better compared to yesterday, both in the wet and with mixed conditions. This morning we could have done a bit better and get seeded to Q2. In Q1, there was a very tight line that was completely dry, while the asphalt in the last sector was still wet. I tried to go for a quick-lap attempt which would have granted me access to Q2 but I lost the front at turn 15. Things will be very different tomorrow as rain should stay away: we have a good set-up from the first race at Misano, so the confidence is still there.”
