ALCOBA QUALIFIES 14TH INI INDIA

The second day of action for team  QJMOTOR Gresini Racing starts off on the right foot with both riders who earned the direct seed to Q2 thanks to the good performance in P3, which saw Salač seventh and Alcoba thirteenth, respectively, in the combined practice timesheets.

Then torrential rain complicated the track conditions for the qualifying session, which was declared wet. Jeremy Alcoba logged a 2’04.208 lap-time that translated into fourteenth position. Filip Salač, on the other hand, had a hard time finding the pace and will therefore line up on the seventeenth place of the grid, ready to bounce back.

14th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (2’04.208)

“This morning we managed to improve in the third practice session and I’m happy we got directly into Q2. Unfortunately the adjustment we made in P3 didn’t work on the wet track in qualifying so we lacked a bit of feeling with the front-end. We will be fourteenth on the grid tomorrow and we’ll do our best to finish in the top ten.

17th – FILIP SALAČ #12 (2’05.123)

“It was a really difficult qualifying as I struggled to get the right feeling in the wet. It’s a shame because we were really quick in the dry, even this morning despite a small crash. It’ll be a difficult race tomorrow, It’ll be a hot one and there are several spots where a lot can make mistakes so it’ll be key to be focused from the first to the final lap. We can aim at the top ten but we need to get a good start – we’ll do our best!”
