ALCOBA’S QUALIFYING ENDS IN Q1, RODRIGO PULLS OUT OF THE WEEKEND

#SanMarinoGP qualifying. It was a Saturday to forget for  Team Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3 who in a matter of hours sees Gabriel Rodrigo pulling out of the werkend due to injury, while in qualifying Jeremy Alcoba could not finish any higher than 25th.

A fracture to the head of the left humerus will keep Gabriel Rodrigo out of action at least tomorrow, with the Argentine’s participation to the US round in jeopardy. Rodrigo will return to Spain today that will shed a brighter light on the condition od the #2 rider.

Jeremy Alcoba did not shine either on the Italian track: the #52 had the worst qualifying performance since the European GP in 2020 and tomorrow will need a super comeback from the ninth row. Proceedings will begin at 11:00 local time. (GMT +2).

25th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (1’43.894)

“My hand is still painful and even if the situation improved in qualifying, we didn’t manage to achieve what we expected. I did a good lap-time on my own and I should have continued this way thinking the others were quicker, but instead I waited dor a good slipstream and then yhe yellow flags did the rest. I’m very disappointed, but we need to stay strong and try our best in the race.”

OUT  OF ACTION – GABRIEL RODRIGO #2

“Afyer free practice yesterday I decided to undergo an MRI because the pain had worsened. They found a fracture in the head of the humerus and a bone oedema; I tried to get on track anyway but the after a few kms I knew I couldn’t race. It’s better to go for a full recovery and make the most of the final races of the season: right now even Austin is in doubt as there are plenty of left-handed corners where I struggle the most – especially under braking.”
