ANOTHER SECOND ROW FOR SALAČ AT MUGELLO

Qualifying – #ItalianGP It was another positive day for Team Moto2 QJMOTOR GRESINI RACING as both riders took part in the Q2. After a solid performance in Free Practice, Filip Salač gained direct access to the final qualifying session and once there he eventually logged a 1’51.026secs lap-time which will translate in the fifth place of the grid tomorrow.

On the other side of the garage, Jeremy Alcoba had to go through Q1 after a crash during FP3 prevented him from improving his lap-time. Qualifying 1 saw him recording a 1’51.630secs lap-time that was enough to go through. He will start tomorrow’s race from 12th place on the starting grid.

The two QJMOTOR GRESINI standard bearers will therefore line up on row two and four, respectively, ready for battle at the team’s home GP.

5th – FILIP SALAČ #12 (1’51.026)

“It was overall a positive day; this morning we finally managed to improve the bike and we gained direct access to Q2. It was very hot during qualifying but I was still able to be competitive. We’re fifth on the grid tomorrow, so another second-row start. We still need to find that extra that could make us even quicker tomorrow, but I’m happy!”

12th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (1’51.519)

“I’m very happy with this Saturday; I was expecting to qualify a little higher up but this morning’s crash kind of cost me a bit of feeling. I’m still happy with the work done during the whole weekend, 12th place on the grid is not too bad for us. If we manage to improve a bit more we could make a step forward for tomorrow. I would to thank the team for the work done and see you tomorrow on the grid!”
