HAPPY ROSSI CLAIMED SEVENTH PLACE IN FRIDAY FREE PRACTICE AT ARAGON
An extremely positive day of action draws to a close for Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3who for the first time in the season places both riders in the top-14 and will aim tomorrow at a direct access to Q2 – which will be kind of automatic in case of rain tomorrow morning.
Rain forecast aside, it has been an important Friday especially for Riccardo Rossi, who after his first world championship points at Misano has approached the Aragon GP with a lot more confidence and awareness. After a lot of work done on the bike settings in the morning, Rossi shone in FP2 and logged a 1’59.1secs time which was enough to claim seventh place in today’s combined times.
Gabriel Rodrigo had a little bit more of a difficult time as he claimed one of the provisional remaining spots for Q2 by finishing 14th. The Argentine rider managed his energy well and he might attack the #AragonGP pole position tomorrow with rain tyres.

“I’m super happy because we’re working really hard and we’ve been deserving this for a while now… but results were late to arrive. We could have been in the top-ten at Misano but ended up only 14th and we know we can do well here and today we showed it. From one side I hope it rains tomorrow to that we are sure to get into Q2, but from the other side a dry FP3 would give us more time to work on the tyre choice for the race.”

“This morning we were quick, while in the afternoon we decided to try a setting change that we had in mind from a few GPs: unfortunately it wasn’t as beneficial as we hoped so tomorrow we will make a step back to find the certainties I have on the bike. We took a gamble because if it rains we will be in Q2 with the last spot available and in Misano we saw how important it is to start the race near the front.”
