ASSEN: SALAČ 13TH IN FRIDAY FREE PRACTICE

Free Practice – #DutchGP It was an up-and-down first day for team Moto2 QJMOTOR GRESINI with Filip Salač 13th in the combined times of today’s two free practice sessions, with Jeremy Alcoba following up closely in 15th just outside the group of riders currently directly seeded to Q2.

The rider #12 struggled to get up to speed in the first session also due to a mistake on his flying lap; he tried again in the afternoon with higher temperatures and managed to improve by logging a 1’37.187secs lap-time.

Alcoba felt good out on track with used tyres and was also able to be quick around the Dutch track. The rider #52 could not be as competitive with new tyres on and will have to work on this area tomorrow morning during FP3 if he wants to access Qualifying 2 from the main door.

13th – FILIP SALAČ #12 (1’37.187)

“The opening day is over; it wasn’t perfect but not too negative, either. This morning I didn’t manage to be quick on the single-lap attempt as I made a few mistakes. We knew the afternoon session would have been the most important one ahead of the race: we’re struggling a bit with higher temperatures so we improved but not enough. We still have work to do.”

15th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (1’37.420)

“An opening day with different feelings: I’m very happy with how the bike feels with used tyres and we managed to be quick. I didn’t manage to do the same with new tyres as the feeling wasn’t there, so I couldn’t improve. We’re going to have a look at data ahead of tomorrow; we can make another step forward and I know where I can improve, but I need to be consistent at it, every lap.”
