BARCELLONA: DIGGIA TAKEN OUT AS BULEGA RODE THROUGH PAIN

#CatalanGP race. Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 did not enjoy a successful weekend at Montmeló as Fabio Di Giannantonio loses ground in the championship standings after being taken out by Garzó, while Nicolò Bulega crossed the finish line in 17th place.

No points on the board and a bit of form to recover for the Faenza-based squad, who must use all the days leading to the two back-to-back rounds in Germany and the Netherlands in order to bounce back. On one side, Nicolò Bulega is still dealing with a right-shoulder injury, while Di Giannantonio will need some R&R after three crashes in one weekend.

DNF – FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21

“It’s a real shame because despite a very challenging weekend we did a good job both yesterday and today. We didn’t get the best of starts today but we knew we could have easily finished in the top ten and bring home a handful of points, which are always good. Few kms before the chequered flag, however, a rider missed the corner entry at turn one and hit me from behind. I don’t think I have any major physical issue, but it was quite a hit.”

17th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11

“Unfortunately the shoulder really affected my performance quite a lot. After the first six laps the effects from painkillers faded away and I couldn’t ride like I wanted. And even though I didn’t have the pace for the podium, we would have surely been able to battle with the guys fighting for the top ten. Now I must concentrate on recovering so that I can be 100% fit for the next two rounds.”
