BRNO OPENS FIRST TRIPLEHEADER FOR TEAM KÖMMERLING

After a one-week break, which was crucial to recover from the scorching temperatures of Jerez de la Frontera, it is already time to Czech Republic for Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3, with the fourth event of the season taking place at the iconic Automotodrom Brno.

Gabriel Rodrigo will make his return on a track that has not been kind to him last year (he fell in FP2 and inured his right collarbone and pelvis) despite being a venue where he was always fast – and where he scored his maiden career pole position.

Brno is a new destination for Jeremy Alcoba, who after Qatar will have to deal with a completely new track; he will try to surprise everyone just as he did in his 2020 debut. It will be important for him to find his way around the long and fast Czech turns, which so far he knows only via gaming.

Milder temperatures are expected compared to Jerez, even though the heat will likely be there anyway. Moto3 proceedings will begin Friday morning at 9:00 local time (GMT+2).

GABRIEL RODRIGO #2 (5th in the championship standings with 30 points)

“Despite the ‘bad memory’ from last year, Brno is a track I like a lot and one that is also full of good memories – above all my first ever pole position in the class, although I’ve always been quick there. The upcoming circuits on the calendar fit my riding style a lot better and even if in the first encounters we cared more about finishing the races and battling at the front, now it is time to fight for podiums and victories. Brno is very different than Jerez with a lot of faster corners, but the bie will be ready and if we can make the front tyre work right without wearing it out too much, we will be among the protagonists.”

JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (10th in the championship standings with 19 points)

“I’m really eager to put myself to test on a track that I so far only know via PlayStation. It looks like a really good track and it might fit my riding style well. Obviously we will have to wait until Friday at least, but the will to do well is there: despite being my first year, there are only a few circuits that are new to me, and Brno is among these. I spent a lot of time watching videos and playing and I’m sure that we will do well.”
