ENCOURAGING EIGHTH PLACE FOR BULEGA AT VALENCIA

Nicolò Bulega put together a consistent performance at Valencia and scored an important result in what has been so far a difficult season for the Italian. After what was surely a not exciting start to the race, the #11 rider did well in racing at his own pace and avoiding collisions which can be quite frequent in the early part of the race. Today’s eighth place is so far this year the best result for himself and Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2, but it can only be considered a starting point ahead of the final two races and the 2021 season.

Edgar Pons, on the other hand, did not make it into the top 15 after lining up on 23rd place on the grid; his pace was not competitive enough to make a difference in a weekend that saw changeable track conditions albeit never as dry as today.

8th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11

“I’m very happy with this race. We were coming from a difficult period of time and the weekend went well: we were in the top ten both in qualifying and in the race, and in very different conditions. We needed a positive result and now we’ll try to build on it for the final two races.”

17th – EDGAR PONS #57

“To be starting so far back didn’t make things easy. We had the pace to be further up but unfortunately qualifying, especially in Moto2, is key. We know we can be more competitive and we’ll have to make the most of next week’s event, hoping the weather will be more favourable.”
