SOLID START TO QATAR GP FOR NAVARRO

It has been an encouraging start to the new racing season for Jorge Navarro and the Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 team, who were eleventh in the combined times of today’s two free practice session of #QatarGP with a 2’01.451secs lap-time – and a half-second gap from the top.

The Spanish rider was among the protagonists of the morning session as he moved up to the top of the timesheets in few occasions before finishing sixth. Despite being almost a second quicker in the afternoon session, Navarro was not able to stay closer to the quickest opponents, although the feeling is still more than positive.

Moto2 riders will get back on track tomorrow at 13:35 local time (GMT +3) for the final free practice of the weekend, before the opening qualifying session of 2018 which will begin at 15:40.

JORGE NAVARRO #9

“It’s been a very positive day. I felt really at ease this morning with the temperatures encountered and my performance kind of benefitted from it. The track was in better condition this afternoon but the temperatures were lower and this didn’t allow me to find the type of settings I was looking for. We did improve from FP1 but that still wasn’t enough to keep the pace of the leaders. We will keep focusing on the rear-end of the bike tomorrow and hopefully we’ll do a good job again.”
