DIGGIA ON STELLAR FORM IN #DOHAGP FREE PRACTICE

#DohaGP Free Practice. One week ago, Fabio Di Giananntonio finished his first day of free practice at Losail with a time of 1’59.8secs and a position away from Q2. Fast forwarding seven days, and the Italian is now in second place, eight tenths quicker and with the Q2 access in his pocket.

The standard bearer of Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 was the absolute protagonist of the day with the best time in FP1 and the second position overall at the end of the day, which was a very important one to fine-tune some details ahead of the race on Sunday.

Nicolò Bulega also did well as he worked hard to leave the previous difficult weekend behind, and he was 10thoverall. He will also be in Q2 directly – from 18:50 local time (GMT +3), despite a crash at turn four in FP2 fortunately without any consequence.

2nd – FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21 (1’59.058)

“The podium has given us a huge boost, no need to hide it. It was important to evaluate the conditions this morning, but we were quick. The afternoon session was crucial to seal the access to Q2. We spent most of it in the lead and we’re happy. We need to keep working and stay focused but we’re on the right track. Last Sunday we struggled a bit with the full tank at the start of the race, but we’re working on that too.”

10th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11 (1’59.607)

“It was a positive day. I was improving a lot but a crash kind of slowed us down a bit. It’s not that much of a drama to crash on Friday, I also understood the bike a bit more so now I know where’s the limit in that particular spot. We need to work hard but we’re certainly doing well and we’ll be in Q2 also tomorrow.”
