OFF TO EUROPE: THE GRESINI MOTO2 TEAM IS READY FOR THE DOUBLE ROUND PORTIMAO-JEREZ

It is time to leave again for the Gresini Racing Moto2 team, but this time in Europe. The first stop will be in Portimao, Portugal, to leave again right after the race off to Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. The two Gresini riders have already had the opportunity to tackle both circuits during February tests, where after full days of intense work they were able to find positive feelings: the data collected will be fundamental to start with a slight personal advantage these two race weekends.

Filip Salač in America managed to conquer his first points in the championship and the goal of these two races will be precisely to continue on this path and close two more races in the top15. Finally we will race on tracks already known also by Alessandro Zaccone who will therefore be able to concentrate exclusively on the set-up of his Kalex without wasting time to discover the different circuits he faced up to now.

The show will start from the roller coaster of the Autodromo International do Algarve, so nicknamed for its 4.6 km ups and downs that make it one of the most fun tracks in the championship in its complexity. The team will then move to the Circuito de Jerez, which has hosted the MotoGP since 1987. It was on this circuit that Fabio Di Giannantonio managed to bring the Gresini Racing to the highest step of the podium last year, giving us very strong emotions.

Moto2 track action starts on Friday  at 10:55 (GMT + 1)

FILIP SALAČ #12

“I can’t wait to get back on track, especially now that we are back in Europe: first in Portimao, a quite difficult track, immediately followed by Jerez, which I find easier. We’ll arrive at these tracks with the data collected during the winter tests, and with the awareness that we can be really competitive after the first points collected in Austin. I can not wait!”.

ALESSANDRO ZACCONE #61

“We must continue the work undertaken since the beginning of the season. I am happy because I know the next tracks so we will have more time to work on the bike, without losing the first practice sessions that I  usually used to learn the different tracks in the first rounds of the season. The first few races weren’t easy, but we expected it. To be tough. But now we are in Europe, where I have already raced, and with the team doing such a great job I’m sure the first positive results are just around the corner!”.
