NO GLORY FOR GRESINI MOTO2 TEAM IN CATALUNYA

RACE – #CatalanGP It was a day to forget at Montmeló for team Gresini Racing Moto2: both riders found themselves back to the pits before the chequered flag, for a disappointing double DNF.

Filip Salač had very different expectations for the race as he lined up in thirteenth position on the grid. The rider #12 managed straight away to get up to speed and log interesting lap-times in the first three laps. While having a great feeling with his Kalex machine, he unfortunately lost the front on lap four in the T4 as his dreams of a good results shattered.

A nightmare weekend drew to a close for Alessandro Zaccone, who entered a negative trend who could not get out from in the race, either. Adjustment after adjustments, the rider #61 is unable to find the right direction and after a long lap due to exceeding track limits at the T2 and a pit-stop, he opted for an early retirement.

DNF – FILIP SALAČ #12

“A difficult day for us: we did manage to finally get a good start to the race and after the opening lap I was 12th. I was feeling good and the bike was incredible: I had a smile on my face behind my helmet and I was aware of the great race we could have had. Then I opened the throttle and crashed after losing the front-end. It was a strange tumble: we will analyse the data gathered in order to understand what happened. We still managed to collect some important experience for an overall positive weekend made of little good steps. We will try to work the same way at the Sachsenring, which will be a sort of home race for me.”

DNF – ALESSANDRO ZACCONE #61

“Another weekend to forget. Unfortunately I cannot manage to find the right feeling with this bike and the best way to ride it. We will try to do a reset in Sachsenring and start from scratch.”
