DOUBLE ROUND FOR THE TEAM GRESINI RACING MOTO2: ARGENTINA AND AMERICA ARE WAITING FOR US!
First double round of the season for the team Gresini Racing Moto2 which will have to face the first race weekend at the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit, followed right after by Texas.
It’s been two years since the last race in Argentina, in the Tierra del Fuego, with a 4.8km circuit that has 5 left and 9 right turns, all to be discovered for Alessandro Zaccone who has never been to Termas, as well as in the circuit of the Americas. He will have a lot to learn, but the experience gained in the last two races will be very helpful in order to find the best set-up of his Kalex.
Last year Filip Salač qualified seventh in the Stars and Stripes circuit, 5.5km long with 11 left and 9 right turns, but he could’t finish the race due to a crash. This year in Moto2 the pace will be different, but the rider number #12 will try his best to be competitive from the first session.
Moto2 track action starts on Friday at 09:55 local time (GMT-3).
FILIP SALAČ #12
“I can’t wait to ride in Argentina, it’s one of my favorite track and I’m sure it will be even more funny with a Moto2 bike. In the last two rounds we have demonstrated that we are fast but we still need one last step to be able to collect the first points. America instead will be quite difficult for us as there are so many change of direction and chicanes which are not easy to do with a Moto2 bike. I will have to learn how to ride my Kalex in this track which I think is one of the most difficult of the season.”
ALESSANDRO ZACCONE #61
“Two new countries that I can’t wait to visit, especially America which seems to be something spectacular. Two weekends in a row on two tracks on which I have never ridden: it won’t be easy, as this is also the first time for me, but we have made some big steps forward with the bike, even if we have not yet collected the results. We will resume the work exactly where we left it, I’m very ready to start this new adventure!”
