FERRARI NINTH IN RACE TWO AFTER THREE-SECOND PENALTY

Race2 – #AustrianGP The final day of racing looked promising at the Red Bull Ring, with Matteo Ferrari starting the second MotoE race once again from third place on the grid and eager to make amends after the crash in the first encounter. Even the threatening grey sky above the Austrian circuit spared the riders who enjoyed a dry race. The standard bearer of team FELO Gresini Racing MotoE battled hard until the last lap and crossed the finish line in fifth place, but was ultimately demoted to ninth position due to a three-second penalty for exceeding track limits.

Despite leaving the circuit with only 7 points, the rider #11 is still third in the standings. He will have the last “double” chance at Misano to finish the season in the top three.

9th – MATTEO FERRARI #11

“Despite the final result, we still managed to stay with the front group throughout the race until the front-end heated up, which is something we need to analyze to understand what happened – and make sure it doesn’t happen again at Misano. Maybe it was a faulty tyre, but whatever it was it did affect our performance because I couldn’t break as hard as I normally do. I tried tondo some damage limitation and finished fifth, but we received a three-second penalty and ended up ninth. There were some issues with the track limit sensors and nobody received any warning, including me, so I think it’s unfair that I got penalized.”
