FERRARI ON FRONT ROW AT LE MANS

#FrenchGP qualifying. Anything that could happen happened today in the wet E-Pole at Le Mans. A downpour came just seconds before the start of the session – which was already decided as a four-lap qualifying session with all riders on the track at the same time – which forced to a temporary halt of proceedings, but then the real action finally began.

At the end of a whirlwind of laps cancellations and position changes, Matteo Ferrari claimed a front-row start for tomorrow’s race at Le Mans, bringing the Indonesian E-Racing Gresini MotoE team towards the front.

A good day also for Andrea Mantovani, who despite a technical problem was able to find a good feeling and a seventh place on the grid. The race will take place tomorrow at 15:30 local time (GMT +2) – instead of the previous 10:05 scheduled time.

MATTEO FERRARI #11

“We were a bit lucky today. We did well this morning and we have the pace to be with the leaders. Qualifying was a tough one, between yellow flags and difficult conditions, but we managed to get an important third place ahead of tomorrow, especially as we know we can battle for a good result.”

ANDREA MANTOVANI #9

“Whilst we were unlucky with the technical problem during qualifying, I’m happy because lap after lap I felt more and more comfortable. These tyres are incredible in wet conditions and I could have pushed more, especially if I had someone ahead of me. This is an excellent seventh place.”
