FERRARI AND MANTOVANI BEGIN MONTMELÓ CHALLENGE

#CatalanGP Free Practice. A challenging Friday awaited the Indonesian E-Racing Gresini MotoE who is yet to make it to the top positions after the opening two Free Practice sessions at Montmeló. Both Matteo Ferrari and Andrea Mantovani have struggled as they finished one second away from today’s fastest time.

Being a new track for the series there is a lot to learn, but Andrea Mantovani still was able to set the outright speed record for a MotoE machine (262.7 km/h). Both riders are now sure on what needs to be done in order to make up some ground to the top ahead of tomorrow’s E-Pole, which gets underway at 16:10 local time (GMT +2).

12th – MATTEO FERRARI #11 (1’51.852)

“It’s been quite a positive day: we’re very competitive in the first and third splits, while we know we struggle in T2 and T4 and we must improve. The pace is good and even the feeling with the bike, but we need a bit more confidence on corner exit and make the most of the new tyre.”

15th – ANDREA MANTOVANI #9 (1’52.235)

“We basically set identical times in the two sessions, while trying different technical solutions. We will now make a choice on which direction to take for FP3: we need to improve, but the track is incredible and I want to do well.”
