FERRARI ON COMEBACK MODE, FINELLO ACHIEVES TOP-TEN TARGET

Following a challenging Saturday, Matteo Ferrari found himself on fourteenth position of the grid: in race one, he made the most of the early laps to recover the lost feeling with his electric Ducati machines, found the rhythm and started his comeback. Overtake after overtake, he managed to make his way back to eighth place. Same result for race two, in which despite the hotter conditions, he still managed to be quick and consistent as he recovered six positions.

Alessio Finello matched the expectations he had entering the weekend as he surprised everyone in race one with e very good pace as he crossed the line in ninth position. He had a bit more of a difficult time in the afternoon due to rising temperatures: the Turin-born rider still managed to have a solid encounter and score his second top-ten finish of the season.

MATTEO FERRARI #11 (8 th RACE1 – 8th RACE2)

“It was a much more positive day compared to yesterday: I wasn’t fully comfortable in race one, but then we made some changes for race two and it felt better. I’m starting to understand how to make the most of these tyres. I’m sorry for how the weekend went, we struggled a bit, but it’s part of the game to sometimes go through these moments. We still brought home the best result: obviously eighth place is not what we expected, but we still scored points. Looking at the glass half full, up to third we’re all very close: the first two are making the difference as they have something more, so we will try to get in the mix with them from the next race in order to narrow the gap down a little.”

ALESSIO FINELLO #72 (9 th RACE1 – 10 th RACE2)

“This has been so far the best weekend of my MotoE career: we were quick and competitive already from Friday as we lapped only a few tenths slower than the leaders. Today we were starting from twelfth place: the two races were tough, with higher temperatures compared to Friday. We still managed to achieve the main goal, the top ten. We had a good pace in race one, where I finished ninth, while I was tenth in race two. Now the goals change, I want to aim higher. I’m happy with the work the team and I did: I’d like to thank them, as well as my family and the sponsors who keep supporting me.”
