FERRARI BACK ON THE FRONT ROW IN AUSTRIA

After exactly three months (15th of May), Matteo Ferrari is back on the front row by finishing in the top three in Spielberg’s E-Pole, the penultimate one of the MotoE season. The standard bearer of Team Indonesian E-Racing Gresini MotoE, who has well performed in all sessions, managed to set his personal best lap-time today during the single-lap qualifying session and will line up on the third spot of the #AustrianGP grid.

Some positive signs also come from the other side of the pit-box, with Andrea Mantovani able to improve his performance across the weekend so far – on a new circuit for him – and was able to finish 15th with a time of 1’36.865secs. The goal for tomorrow’s race (scheduled at 15:30 local time) will be to get in the top-ten, which was only a few milliseconds away today.

3rd – MATTEO FERRARI #11 (1’35.546)

“It’s been a very positive weekend so far and we showed today that we’re quick, and we have a competitive bike. The goal was to stay ahead of my title rivals and I must say mission accomplished. We now have to score the most points we can in order to get to Misano and battle for the title.”

15th – ANDREA MANTOVANI #9 (1’36.865)

“We were able to replicate our FP3 time in E-Pole, but it’s a shame that we can’t manage to be more effective in such a challenging qualifying session format-wise. If I had one more lap available I would have surely been a lot closer to the front of the grid, but it’s the same for everybody so we need to improve.”
