FERRARI 3rd IN THE LAST PRE-SEASON TEST

Jerez de la Frontera, 13th April 2022. Last three days of test for the riders of the MotoE category, who found difficult weather conditions in the second day that prevented the FELO Gresini Racing riders from getting on track. Positive feelings instead on the first and last day.

Matteo Ferrari closes the combined three days in 3rd position with a time of 1:48.505 and a gap of only 0.047sec from the first rider. He immediately manages to start again from the good sensations of the first test in dry conditions. Excellent performance of the rider #11 also in the qualifying simulation, where he manages to enter Q2 directly and then conquers a first row in view of the race simulation.

On the other hand Alessio Finello initially struggled to find good feelings in the first sessions due to the strong wind, but he improved at the end of the day. He is one of the few riders to venture a few laps even on the second day to regain the sensations in the wet, but the extreme conditions forced him to return to the box. He made a step forward for on the last day instead: thanks to these tests the rider number #72 feels now more confident and ready for the start of the championship.

3rd – MATTEO FERRARI #11 (1:48.505; +0.047)

“The sensations with the bike are very good, we were able to resume the work of the first test right from the start, improving further, conquering Q2 on the first day and the third best time in today’s race simulation, where the goal was not to conquer the top positions, but to take advantage of every single lap to become more and more familiar with the bike and gather important information to understand what to work on to improve even further. I’m really happy with the results, also considering the fact that we didn’t ride our bikes on the second day. We are in the top positions, concentrated. We will keep on working on the smallest details to take a further step in the race!“

17th – ALESSIO FINELLO #72 (1:51.156; +2.698)

“I am happy and satisfied with this test, where I was able to find the same feeling of the first test, even if I struggled a bit in the first few sessions. I really needed to get back on track before the start of the season even though we unfortunately burned one day due to bad weather. Unfortunately I am still behind in terms of position in the standings, but we are improving on track and I am trying to work a lot on my mentality to try to improve faster and be strong from the very beginning. The sensations for the first round of the championship are positive, above all because I will arrive physically in a better condition: this week I will undergo a surgery on my right forearm which was giving me problems while on track. This will allow me to be more relaxed and then we’ll see what the first race has in store for me!”
