FERRARI: THE TITLE BATTLE IS STILL OPEN

Another round has drawn to a close and Team MotoE FELO Gresini Racing is now in the top three of the teams world championship classification courtesy of the points scored by their standard bearers at this year’s edition of the Catalan Gran Prix. Matteo Ferrari, especially, managed to bag 24 points with a fourth in race one and a fifth in race two. The rider #11 is now third in the standings, one point away from Torres but 22 shy of Casadei. Anything can happen in the last round of the season, taking place next week at Misano, where the title will be awarded. Ferrari will do his utmost to make sure it is his.

It was a challenging Saturday for Alessio Finello, who did not manage to capitalize on the work done the previous day. He finished both races in fifteenth place and he is ready to make amends in the final event of the season, hoping the home crowd will give him the extra boost needed to finish the season on a high note.

MATTEO FERRARI #11 (RACE 1: 4TH; RACE 2: 5TH)

“Unfortunately I didn’t get a good start in race one and lost some time trying to overtake some riders, but we still managed to take home 11 points. Race 2 could have been the perfect opportunity to make some ground in the standings from Jordi following his crash, and we did get close to him but Casadei won the race and we’re now 22 points away from the top. We planned to narrow the gap at this round, we failed at it and I’m sorry but now we need to think about Misano: there are still two races left and anything can happen, so I’ll give my all to take home the best possible result.”

ALESSIO FINELLO #72 (RACE 1: 15TH; RACE 2: 15TH)

“It was a difficult race: I’m disappointed as I wanted to bring home a good result in light of yesterday’s improvement, but instead we did a step back un the races. I started well in both encounters but then struggled to get up to speed. Now we need to analyze what happened in order to arrive to Misano with better awareness and finally capitalize on the work done this year.”
