FERRARI GOES ALL IN WITH WIN AND CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD IN MISANO
Matteo Ferrariput together a superb performance under the extreme heat of Misano today and clinched his first win in the FIM MotoE World Cup for himself and Team Trentino Gresini MotoE. After a great start the young Italian rider showed amazing race craft by waiting until the right moment for the winning overtake – while avoiding any mistake – and holding onto the lead to bad 25 crucial points that catapulted him from sixth to first place in the championship standings.
Lorenzo Savadori also had an encouraging race as he did well in avoiding some traffic issues first from Di Meglio (retirement) and then from the three-way crash that happened just a few metres ahead of the rider #32. His seventh-place finish comes with some important points to get more confidence ahead of tomorrow’s race – taking place at 10:05 local time.

“It’s been an incredible win in front of my home crowd and with two really good rivals like De Angelis and Simeon. They were both very fast and setting up corners in a very good way, so overtaking wasn’t easy. At the right time I completed the passes, improved my rhythm and kept the lead. I would really like to thank my team because the bike was perfect: a set-up change we did yesterday put us in perfect conditions despite a really hot track. It’s true, we’re first in the championship, but I’m only thinking about tomorrow’s race and obviously we’ll try to go for the same result.”
7th – LORENZO SAVADORI #32
“It’s been a positive race and to be honest it’s a shame because the three-way crash and Di Meglio’s problem slowed me down a bit. But it’s been no doubt my best race so far, I lapped with a similar race pace to the top-five so tomorrow we’ll try to do even better. Unfortunately, being on the 11thposition meant I had to go through some traffic. I would like to compliment my team and Matteo, he did an incredible race and he deserved the win.”
