GABRI, FINALLY!

#ItalianGP race. The most longed and awaited podium is finally in the hands of Gabriel Rodrigo who put together a brilliant race – with no mistakes – which culminated in his first top three finish with team Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3.

Three seasons of sacrifices and hard work, with the Argentine rider and his crew finally able to lift the well deserved trophy and look at the future with great confidence. Sixteen points that also greatly improve Rodrigo’s championship situation as he is now tenth but only few points away from the top positions (Masía, currently 2nd, is only 19 points away).

A much more challenging weekend for Jeremy Alcoba who leaves Mugello with only one point. This is still a positive result for the Spaniard in his maiden event at this track.

It is still an extremely sad day as the motorcycle racing world has lost a very young rider in Jason Dupasquier. Heartfelt condolences from Gresini Racing go to Jason’s family and to team Pruestel.

3rd – GABRIEL RODRIGO #2 (10th in the championship standings – 41 points)

“It’s a bittersweet feeling, having scored my first podium in such a tragic day due to Jason’s passing away. This podium is for you and also for Fausto and his family – who were here at the track – and to my brother Juan – who passed away two years ago. It’s been two difficult seasons and this result has to be also for my team, who always supported me despite my many past mistakes.”

15th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (17th in the championship standings – 19 points)

“It’s been a very difficult race from many points of view. We didn’t get a bad start but we knew it was going to be hard. Doesn’t matter really as all my thoughts go to Jason who is not here with us anymore. I’m lost for words.”e
