FERRARI STILL ATOP THE STANDINGS AFTER RACE 1 AT VALENCIA

The title race will continue in the final race of the season. The MotoE world Cup will be decided in the last showdown schedule at 15:30 tomorrow at Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo Circuit. Matteo Ferrari is still the main contender for the ultimate price courtesy of today’s fourth place, which allows him to enter the final battle with a 12-point margin over Garzo (2ndtoday) and 21 on Smith (3rdat the flag).

The race start was not ideal for Ferrari (Team Trentino Gresini MotoE) who dropped down to fifth place but then managed to find back some speed and confidence as he battled out first with Garzo and then Simeon – before finishing with 13 important points under his belt ahead of tomorrow.

By repeating today’s result in the last race, Matteo Ferrari would be crowed the first-ever MotoE world champion. Fingers crossed!

4th– MATTEO FERRARI #11

“Something didn’t work out at the start and we’re trying to look into the data with the team, but apart from that I had the pace, even though it took me a bit too long to overtake Simeon. We will try tomorrow to repeat at least the same result as today. Let’s keep both feet on the ground and let’s focus on the last race.”

16th– LORENZO SAVADORI #32

“Unfortunately we didn’t get a good start and due to a coming together I ended up in the back. I tried to recover, but I didn’t manage to overtake a slower rider ahead of me… It’s been a complicated race and we could have surely done better… we’ll try again tomorrow.”
