GONZALEZ FOURTH IN LE MANS AFTER DAY ONE
Manuel Gonzalez has been among the quickest riders in today’s two sessions at Le Mans. He was fourth in both Free Practice 1 and Practice 1; in the afternoon session he managed to get up to speed straight away after a set-up change, ultimately logging a 1’35.780secs lap-time that currently grants him direct access to Q2.
Albert Arenas had more of a challenging time today as after a crash in free practice, he struggled to find the feeling with the rear-end in Practice 1, and at the moment finds himself outside the group of riders eligible for direct admission to the final qualifying session for only two tenths. The rider #75 has shown his single-lap speed more than once this year already, and tomorrow he will try his best to make sure he can battle for a spot on the front rows of the grid.
4th – MANUEL GONZALEZ #18 (1’35.780)
“Today went quite well; we were quick in both FP and Practice1. We wrap up day one in fourth place, which is not the top but still shows the almost-perfect work we did. We tried a different set-up in the afternoon, and I was as quick as in the morning, which proves that we have a strong and consistent pace. We need to do some fine tuning now to secure a spot on the front row. I’m happy with this first day!”
16th – ALBERT ARENAS #75 (1’36.338)
“A difficult day after the crash in the free practice. I tried to maintain the work plan we decided in advance for Practice1 in the afternoon but it wasn’t easy. We still have a lot of work to do: tomorrow we will do everything we can to find the feeling again and have a good qualifying!”
