GRESINI MOTOE PROJECT CONFIRMED IN ITS ENTIRETY – FELO EXTENDS CONTRACT UNTIL 2025, WITH FERRARI AND FINELLO BACK ON TRACK NEXT YEAR

Never change a winning team. The combo FELO – Ferrari has worked wonderfully this year as they finished on a high with a win in the last race at Misano and the 3rd place overall in the MotoE World Cup. This is why Felo – a leading Chinese company in the production of electric scooters with a futuristic design – will be with the Faenza-based squad until 2025 and once again with Matteo Ferrari spearheading the title attack for the Gresini squad.

The rider #11 has proved time and time again to be among the best riders of the electric category, as he finished in the top three every season he has partaken in so far – while also becoming the first-ever MotoE title winner. The Rimini-born rider has all it takes to battle for the 2023 title.

The team will also see the return of Alessio Finello who, after a learning season in the electric category, is ready to raise the bar and try to get some satisfaction in the new Ducati-powered journey.

MATTEO FERRARI #11

“I’m very happy to stay with this team, who has become family to me. It will be our fifth year together and that is not a given: many riders looking for a change, while we have always got along well and achieved good results. Four years in the top three at world level is not a given: the level of competition has grown, riders have come and gone; each season has been different, but we were always there and managed to stand out. The morale is very high ahead of 2023 also due to the excellent way we finished last year: we cannot wait to start again and try the new Ducati MotoE. I would like to thank Nadia and the whole team, the ones at the track and those at the office, because each of them makes a difference. It feels good to be in Gresini, and that’s something that helps me, and the other riders do better. Thank you, I cannot wait to get it started!”

ALESSIO FINELLO #72

“I’m extremely happy with the renewed trust from both sides, we are back together. This year served as a learning experience and to be ready for 2023. With the arrival of Ducati everyone will have to start from scratch, so I won’t be at disadvantage like this year – where many other riders had previous experience racing electric bikes. Now I also have a one-year experience in the category and managed to get to know several tracks and get used to an electric bike – even though next year will be from a different manufacturer. I cannot wait to start, I’m very proud to get the contract extension from the team and I thank them, together with my family and sponsor and those who believe in me and this project. I will be mentally stronger next year, more self-confident also thanks to the team and the support they’re giving me.”

ZHANG JY – CEO FELO “We are delighted for having achieved the 3rd place overall in our first year of participation in the MotoE class with Team Gresini. The hard work of the Team and the Riders delivered a tremendous support for the promotion of the FELO brand at global level, right in the year we will officially start selling our model FW-06 worldwide. This is the reason why we decided to extend the partnership with Team Gresini MotoE until 2025.  We have a long-term program with includes also the participation in competition for electric bikes, and who knows that one day we will develop a MotoE machine when the championship will be open to multiple constructors. Thanks to everyone, thanks to Gresini, and we look forward to continuing the excellent performance in the 2023 season.”
