THE GRESINI WORLD TOUR BEGINS WITH TWO BACK-TO-BACK EVENTS IN INDIA AND JAPAN

It is time for adventure for Team Gresini MotoGP who from this week will travel for the first time in its history at New Delhi, at the Buddh International Circuit, for the 13th Grand Prix of the 2023 season.

With no prior data or references, it will be like a leap in the dark for Alex Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio, who will put their undoubted talent through its paces from Friday – with two purposely longer FP sessions of 70 minutes each.

From India to Japan, where the Ducati machines are expected to perform at their best and where both riders know they can deliver top level performances. Alex Marquez has already won at Motegi on three occasions, twice in Moto3 (2013 and 2014) and once in Moto2 (2017) …

ALEX MARQUEZ #73 (9th in the championship standings – 108 points)

“The Indian event is a question mark for everybody. We’re getting ready with what we can: by playing videogames, watching F1 races and then once there we’ll try to get to grips with the track as quick as possible. And then Motegi, which can be very favourable with all its heavy braking areas. We’re coming from two positive – albeit not perfect – weekends and we’re eager to show our potential and keep growing.”

FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #49 (16th in the championship standings – 43 points)

“I always liked new tracks as they’re a blank slate for everybody and it’s where the good work done with the team really comes out, without data or previous references. I expect a track with very little grip but also very fast, so it may adapt well to our characteristics. In Japan first of all I have a surprise in store, and it’s also a track with some heavy braking and I know the Ducati will be competitive there.”
