RED BULL RING AWAITS TEAM GRESINI MOTOGP

#AustrianGP. Among the most innovative circuits on the calendar, Red Bull Ring awaits this year Team Gresini MotoGP with a different layout compared to the races held in previous years (from 2016 to 2021), courtesy to a new chicane between turns 1 and two that will reset all previous lap records and will make impossible any comparison with past lap-times.

The Austrian venue holds contrasting memories in the team garage: on one side, Enea Bastianini has already been on the podium there in 2016 and 2018 (Moto3 class) but did not lap much in the intermediate class (due to injury) and last year in MotoGP – at least in the race.

Regarding Fabio Di Giannantonio, it is probably the least suited circuit for his riding style: the #49 has always finished in the top 15 so far in his career at the Red Bull Ring, but has never finished higher than sixth (2017 Moto3).

ENEA BASTIANINI #23 (4th in the championship standings with 118 points)

“Red Bull Ring is surely a track that I like and I managed to do well in the past, especially in the lower classes. Last year with Ducati, we were unlucky in the race, but were also very competitive throughout the weekend and that bodes well. The goal is to continue the same way as Silverstone and continue being in the top positions.”

FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #49 (20th in the championship standings with 18 points)

“Red Bull Ring has always been a challenging track for me and so far I haven’t been able to get any top result there – that’s why I think it’s time to change things. We’re coming from a challenging weekend in Silverstone and we’re eager to make amends for it. We need to start from scratch, recover the lost feeling, score points and go back to the level of form of the early part of the season.”
