TEAM KÖMMERLING GRESINI MOTO3 READY FOR COMEBACK IN AUSTRIA
Jeremy Alcobaand Riccardo Rossi have completed the second day of action for the eleventh round of the season in Austria. Both riders did not succeed in going through Q1, with the Spanish rider – who is making his debut with team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3 who finished qualifying just ahead of his teammate Riccardo Rossi, with the latter receiving later a 12-position penalty due to riding at slow speed in some sectors of the track.
With a lot of traffic on track and a maybe a bit too much strategy on track during the session, the two youngsters were nevertheless able to log their best lap-times on the last flying lap: both lapped in 1’37.7 and were within 73 thousandths of a second of each other at the chequered flag – before race direction inflicted the aforementioned sanction to Rossi.
From 11:00 tomorrow (GMT+2) he two standard bearers of Gresini Racing in the quarter-litre class of MotoGP will try their best to make up as many places as possible, with the top-15 as a plausible goal for Alcoba in the #AustrianGP race.

“I thought I was going to be last but in the end things went quite well, despite being far from the top. I must say that despite logging the same time as this morning, but I was feeling a lot more comfortable and relaxed on the bike, which is surely a step forward. I hope the race won’t be too fast, because if the pace will be between 37 and 37.5 we will be able to stay with the rest of the group and play our part. About the tyre we’ll see, I like both tyres even though we will most likely go with the softer option.”

“There was a lot chaos in qualifying and I still have to understand how to do my best in this type of situations: today I clearly didn’t. We will use the soft tyre and our pace is not too bad, especially in the second half of the race. Let’s wait and see, because also the weather could change.”
